Coir Geotextiles
A woven hillside: open-mesh coir cloth that holds the slope while the roots take over.
What it is
Cloth for ground that cannot yet hold itself
A coir geotextile is spun coir yarn woven into an open-mesh cloth that lies against raw ground and takes the weather on its behalf. As coir matting for erosion control it slows run-off and pins the soil; as coir netting for slope stabilisation it gives seed and root a lattice to grow through. It resists rot for the seasons the slope needs to establish, then disappears into the ground it held.
- Woven from spun coir yarn; no plastics, nothing to retrieve.
- Densities from 300 to 1000 gsm, matched to gradient and flow.
- Open mesh: seed is sown straight through and grows to close it.
- Rot-resistant through establishment, then fully biodegradable.
- For bioengineering, riverbanks, embankments and landscaping.
