The Anatomy
What arrives at your kerb
A UK-standard 1200 x 1000 mm pallet carrying 180 compressed blocks in fifteen layers, stretch-wrapped, corner-boarded, and banded with the numbered Arakku fascetta. Gross weight around 925 kg; delivered by tail-lift lorry to any hard, flat surface on UK mainland.
- Each 5 kg block expands to roughly 70-75 litres: a pallet is about 13,000 litres of growing medium.
- Every pallet carries its lot serial on the tag, matching the certificate and the loading film.
- Kerbside delivery: the driver moves the pallet by pump truck to the nearest flat surface. Confirm access before dispatch and re-delivery fees never happen.

Where an order lands in the band is set by its preparation: the washing cycles, calcium buffering if asked for, the grading, and the time the lot takes in cure. The written quote states the exact figure before any commitment; the register is dated and every customer pays the register. Mixed pallets (blocks + chips) are quoted on request; white-label block wrapping available from three pallets.
The Grades
Three grades, one standard
Everything the house sells is measured against the Pollachi Standard and certified per lot. The grades differ in treatment, not in honesty.
- Washed Low-EC: fresh-water washed until conductivity reads at or under 0.50, sun-cured, sieved. The working grade for compost brands and general growing.
- Buffered Pro: washed, then soaked in calcium nitrate so the fibre stops competing with your feed for calcium and magnesium. For hydroponics, soft fruit and any crop fed to a recipe.
- Husk Chips: the coarse cut, graded 10-20 mm, for orchids, vivaria and mixes that must breathe.
How ordering works
From enquiry to kerb, in five movements

With the quote comes the current lot's certificate and the loading film, before any money moves. Read them; test us against them.
Single pallets are settled in full at order; multi-pallet orders by half deposit, the balance before dispatch. Bank transfer or card. UK-stock pallets dispatch within five working days.
Buffered and chips ship from Pollachi in consolidated containers with published loading dates. Your deposit reserves a numbered slot; the balance falls due when your lot's certificate is issued and the loading is filmed.
Tail-lift lorry, kerbside, tracked. The pallet arrives banded and tagged with its serial; the day-fourteen check-in follows, and the register price for your reorder is locked for the season.

How much does a pallet of cocopeat cost in the UK?

What is on a pallet?
A pallet carries 180 compressed 5 kg blocks in fifteen layers, stretch-wrapped and banded, around 900 kg gross and tagged with the lot serial.
Is there VAT and import duty?
Prices are quoted ex VAT, and UK import duty on cocopeat is 0% under HS code 5305000000. The house handles the import side.
How is quality proven before payment?
Every lot is tested by an independent laboratory for EC, pH, moisture and sand, the certificate is published before dispatch, and the loading is filmed.
How fast is delivery?
UK-stock washed pallets dispatch within five working days; buffered and chips ship on published loading dates from Pollachi.
Can I test before ordering a pallet?
Yes: the sample kit, from £169 ex VAT, carries two blocks from a current lot with the papers, and its price is credited in full against the first pallet.
