About Pollachi Coir
A single-estate cocopeat exporter from Tamil Nadu with a UK importer's paperwork: founded by a son of Pollachi living in Britain, verified by family on the ground where the palms grow, sold by the pallet with every lot's papers attached.
Pollachi Coir began with a simple offence: the town that gives the world its growing fibre is nowhere on the bag. Coir leaves the belt in anonymous containers, is blended, rebagged and renamed abroad, and the buyer at the end of the chain is asked to trust a label that names everything except the place and the lot. The house was founded to reverse that: to put Pollachi's name on the world's finest coir, and to replace trust-me with test-me.
The founder lives in Britain and answers every enquiry personally; the family lives in the coconut country and stands in the yards. That pairing is the whole method: British paperwork and delivery manners at one end, Pollachi eyes on every lot at the other.

Cocopeat by the pallet, priced in the open
Washed low-EC cocopeat blocks, calcium-buffered blocks and graded husk chips, each pallet one lot with one certificate. The register is public and every customer pays the register.

Where it comes from
One estate in the coir capital
Pollachi sits in the rain shadow of the Anaimalai hills, on red laterite earth, in the densest coconut country in India. Its Tuesday sandhai has traded coconut for two centuries, and the word coir itself is Tamil: kayiru, rope. Our cocopeat is the pith of husks from this belt, washed in fresh water, sun-cured in the yards and pressed into blocks within sight of the palms.
Single estate means one source and one standard, lot after lot. It does not mean small: a pallet holds a hundred and eighty blocks, a container twenty-one pallets.
How it reaches you
From the yard to your kerb
The sealed sample from your lot goes to an independent laboratory. Nothing is loaded until the readings sit inside the Pollachi Standard.
Pallets travel by sea in shared containers and are cross-docked at Felixstowe; no pallet is ever shipped alone. Coir pith enters the UK under HS 5305 00 00 at zero duty.
Each pallet is delivered to the UK mainland by tail-lift lorry, wrapped, banded and tagged with its lot serial. Washed Low-EC is held in UK stock for three to five day delivery.
Quote, certificate, pallet tag, seal and loading film all carry the same serial, and the lot page resolves it. If a question is ever raised, a sealed retention split from your lot is on the shelf for the season.
The Pollachi Standard
The numbers a lot must meet
Every lot is measured by an independent laboratory against the same four limits before it leaves the estate. The certificate is published with the lot, and the methods are the European standards a British grower's own lab will use.

We test every lot before it travels, publish what we find, price in the open, and film what we ship. Where the trade asks buyers to hope, we hand them papers.
The Protocol
Family verification, in order
No lot is bought from a photograph. The family walks the yard, films the wash ponds and presses, and draws the sample themselves: never accepting one drawn for them.
The sealed sample goes to an independent laboratory. The purchase is released only when the readings sit inside the Pollachi Standard; the certificate becomes page two of your papers.
Pallets counted in on camera, fascetta bands visible, doors closed, the bolt seal set and read aloud. The film is linked from the lot page.
A sealed split of every shipped lot is kept for the season. If a question is ever raised, the evidence is not a memory: it is a bag with a serial on the shelf.
The Marks

Asked before the first pallet
A single-estate export house. The cocopeat is grown, washed and pressed in the Pollachi belt of Tamil Nadu and verified by the founder's family at the yard; the UK company sells it by the pallet to British buyers with the lot's papers attached. We do not blend lots from different yards.
One hundred and eighty five-kilo blocks, about 900 kg, one lot serial, one certificate. The register price is 749 to 899 pounds per pallet ex VAT, delivered kerbside to the UK mainland with a tail-lift; a container of twenty-one pallets is 13,500 to 17,000 pounds ex VAT. The written quote states the exact figure before any commitment.
Yes. The sample kit holds two blocks from a current lot, the lot's certificate, the loading film and the testing guide, for 179 pounds ex VAT delivered, credited in full against your first pallet.
Every lot's independent laboratory certificate is published on the verification page, and the serial on your quote, pallet tag, seal and loading film all point to the same lot.
