What the keeper asks of the ground
Three things: humidity that holds; a substrate the animal can dig; a supply chain that can say what is in the bag, because nothing is. The house does not dress the bag in claims: it washes in fresh water, adds nothing, and publishes the batch figures.

The preparation
How the house prepares it
For bedding the craft is subtraction: fresh water, six weeks of sun, a fine mill, and nothing else on the list.
