What it is
The grade that stays put
Coconut shell chips are the palm's hardest cut: shell broken to 6-10 mm and polished until it glows a deep golden brown. As a coco shell mulch it is slow to break down and clean underfoot; the colour holds where softer mulches fade. Designers specify shell chips for landscaping: planters, borders and show gardens dressed at around 20 kg to the square metre.
