What mushroom work asks of a substrate
Four things: salt the mycelium never meets; clean structure for the CVG blend of coir, vermiculite and gypsum; a casing that holds water without slumping; and the same reading, lot after lot. A salty lot ruins a grow; ours arrive proven.
- EC at or under 0.50, measured 1:1.5, published for every lot before it ships.
- Sun-cured six weeks and screened to an even crumb: structure your CVG mix can rely on.
- Moisture stated on the certificate, so your pasteurisation maths holds.
- The same spec on reorder; one serial follows the goods from quote to lot page.
The preparation
How the house prepares it
Contamination discipline begins in the yard, not the autoclave: every stage exists to hand you a substrate that is clean, dry and known.
Fresh mountain-fed water until conductivity reads at or under 0.50: the salt a spawn run never meets.
Six weeks of sun between husk and block; even moisture, no forced heat.
An even crumb, long fibre out; CVG mixes and casing layers want structure, not knots.
An independent laboratory reads EC, pH, moisture and sand; the certificate is published for every lot before dispatch.
Banded, tagged with the lot serial, the loading filmed: 180 blocks of 5 kg, about 900 kg to the pallet.
